My first visit to Monty's and I wasn't in the mood for burgers so I ordered the dog pile instead. I've heard good things about the impossible burger but I guess that's for me to try next time. The dog pile is from their secret menu, thanks to fellow Yelpers for the info! It's fries or tater tots (or you can do 50/50) topped with 2 impossible patties, melted cheese, grilled onions, and all of their sauces. Honestly, I couldn't really tell if the impossible patty tastes like real meat because the dog pile is smothered with so many different sauces, the overwhelming flavors masked the taste of the patty. Been coming to this place frequently for the past year since it became 'INhau'. This place isn't bad. With Vietnamese bars shutting down in SJ, the choices are getting slim, especially when you want to go to an old school one where you go eat & drink & have conversations with your buddies without strippers/dancers interrupting & trying to take your money. The food has gotten better since I first came a year ago. The dishes that we typically order are the beef cube steak, grilled squid with soy sauce & wasabi dip, & fried tofu. The previous reviewer Cathy is right about the current ownership. The husband will visit tables to greet & thank people for coming & the wife will make sure you're taken care of with any food or drinks you'll want to order. They also have bottle service upon request which will run you about $160 & they wont try to pressure you into...
