I used to go into San Francisco's Mission District where La Cumbre made the best Burritos anywhere. Then it was a toss-up between Oakland's La Ultima (New Mexican cuisine) and La Estrella or talk of the Town. Then I moved to Alameda and discovered what was then called Alameda Taqueria. I've been coming here 36 years and they were a prime factor in me dropping anchor and making Alameda home. Alejandro and family have been rocking the culinary scene in Alameda as The place for good, tasty Mexican food. And they are some of the nicest people in town. I grew up in New Mexico so none of the other places would cut it for me when I moved to Alameda. This was it and still is. I'm so glad they are still here, Thank You Island Taqueria!
