Ivar's Fish Bar came highly recommended to me by a friend, and after visiting myself I can understand why. The fish bar area itself is simply a walk up and order kitchen area outside of the Salmon House restaurant. (Instructions are even helpfully posted if you're confused about the ordering process.) Since I'm a basic tourist, I opted for the classic fish n chips. Each person behind the counter I spoke to was polite, efficient, and helpful. My order took slightly longer than a friend's, and yet, I did not complain because a)that wait time was barely 5 minutes, and b) freshly fried food is a huge win. Iced lemon water is available for freee, as well as malt vinegar and lemon wedges if you feel so inclined (I did). The actual meal itself was 4 pieces of flaky fresh cod with a light coating served over a bed of somewhat crispy fries. Each morsel was just so succulent and worth the wait in traffic we experienced after leaving. You can sit by the water too, and that just makes the food taste better in my opinion. Four stars because I feel like the price is kind of steep, but I'm also stingy af sooooo...
