Jay Bird's Chicken in Arcadia

Food was amazing. Not the first time coming here. Ordered the chicken and waffles as well as two chicken sandwiches. BUT I did find two hairs in one of the chicken sandwiches. Never had this happen before. Not trying to ask for a free meal. I noticed that the two men with long hair and beards making the food were not wearing any hairnets.  Hopefully, this doesn't happen again and whoever is preparing the food wears hairnets.

Chicken sandwich and fries were great but the bun was soggy. If the bun wasn't soggy:  5/5.  Not bad for a hot chicken place

(+) The seasoning on the fries (+) The chicken sandwich Jay Bird's Chicken is a Nashville styled chicken shop that just popped up in the alley of restaurants at the Santa Anita Mall (across the way from DTF). The spice, chicken, and fries is what they specialize in. They offer two sides for most meals, and have many options to choose from. Food: I ordered the mild chicken sandwich with sides of fries and coleslaw. The mild is subtle and I would recommend this even if you don't like spicy. It adds a certain flavor that makes the sandwich more enjoyable. A good surprise to me was the vinegar based coleslaw. I loved that subtle difference that makes it unique to the most often used mayo based coleslaw dressing. The chicken sandwich is a respectable size. One thing I would change, or might request next time is to toast the bun. The bun would make the sandwich so much better if it was toasted or at least warmed up. My favorite part of the meal was the fries! The fries are lightly seasoned with their shake that use to flavor the chicken. The fries are so crispy and light that I got goosebumps from eating them! Service: The servers that take your order are kind and patient. It was our first time there, and he gave us time, with a smile, to decide on what to choose. I enjoy seeing workers who want to be there and serve their guests with a warm smile. Overall, I would recommend Jay Bird's Chicken. I'm lucky to live walking distan...
