A meal I'll never forget. Let me set the scene. Earlier in the week, I hadn't been feeling to well. But I had plans to visit JuneBaby over the weekend and I was doing all I could to nurse myself back to health. I was also focusing on what I ate during the week because I wanted to save my calories for this meal. Saturday finally came and I was excited. I had heard rave reviews about the restaurant and was told it's the closest I'll get to southern cuisine. People would tell me how it was the best restaurant in Seattle and personally, I believed no one. But I was on a mission to #EatBLACKSeattle and find 52 black owned restaurants within the city. So I had to try it. I get there and the parking lot looked empty or so I thought. There was a wait as it was packed to capacity. (This was right before COVID and the lockdown.) The staff was friendly and the wait wasn't too ridiculous, which I was pleased by. I reviewed the menu but decided to get their most popular dishes.
