I've found another amazing sushi spot in Houston! I live around the Heights area, so this place was a pretty nice drive for me. This is definitely a place where you should be prepared to splurge a bit of money on, but it's definitely worth it. It has a bit of a slight upscale vibe with the dimmed lights and the presentation of the food, but I would say it's about between casual-upscale. This is what my friend and I ordered, that I highly recommend, with my personal rating: -hamachi chili crudo (4/5) -oyster rockefeller (5/5) -brussel sprouts (5/5) -yellow rose maki (5/5) -negi toro maki (5/5) Honestly, you can just feel the fish just melt in your mouth. It just tastes so fresh. My absolutely favorite out of everything that we ordered that I think is a must try when you come here is the negi toro maki. I'm honestly usually not a huge fan of tuna in general, but fatty tuna will make me drool for it. This is a great date night place or to catch up with a friend!

KA sushi is a little establishment in the heights that serves pretty good quality fish and sushi. My boyfriend and I came for happy hour and we got the yellow rose roll and the basil tuna roll off of the happy hour menu. The yellow rose was sooo good with good flavors coming from the perilla. We also got the raw oysters, and I probably would not get it again because the oysters were very small and not meaty. We also got the negimaki roll off of the happy menu and that was my favorite- it surprised me so much how well the flavors complimented each other and they were very generous with the meat portions. We also got the $48 chefs selection sashimi (the sashimi is easier to share than the nigiri because the sashimi set comes with 2 pieces of each fish, for a total of 20 pieces, whereas the nigiri is just one piece each). To be honest, i wasn't surprised by most of the pieces, it was good and all but i guess i was just expecting more. My favorite piece was the king salmon (a fatty piece of salmon topped with truffle butter)- SOO GOOD and still dreaming about it. Besides that, I probably wouldn't get the set again, although the presentation was very pretty. We also got the steak and egg sashimi which is wagyu with quail egg and soy butter- would highly recommend this it melted in my mouth. Overall, delicious dinner and i would recommend KA sushi to anyone that's in the heights area!!
