I went to Kanpai Japanese Steak House and Sushi for lunch and a birthday celebration with family. We were seated immediately after entering (weekends around dinner time can be busy). The chefs are usually entertaining with their chef skills. I ordered hibachi steak and shrimp, which comes with grilled vegetables and fried rice (soup and salad as well). I thought Kanpai entire meal was tasty. Everything was cooked and seasoned well. Sauces are not watered down, which I appreciate. Service is usually good. There's plenty of parking in front of the restaurant. If you have a large group, it's best to call ahead and make reservations. Kanpai has lunch specials! Kanpai Japanese Steak House and Sushi is a good choice for hibachi in RVA.
