Someone broke in and burned the place down last night

Bad food, no customer service. American fusion food. Nothing authentic. Unnecessary hype created with tables. Food is no where close to any asian / thai / burmese or indonesian style.

I'm so glad I had the chance to check Katoi out before it moves back to Detroit. Everything from the food to the service to even the skincare products in the bathroom was wonderful.  My waiter knew the menu extremely well and took the time to explain every item to me. While his speech was a bit long, it was clear that he and everyone who worked there took this food business extremely seriously. The menu, to my delight, was full of fusion dishes. I split an appetizer and two entrees with a friend and enjoyed every bite of the meal. The sweet potato tostones I ordered were smartly paired with a tart guacamole (and an incredibly hot dipping sauce that I was too weak to handle) that drew out a contrast in their flavors. The beef brisket was delicately charred but still retained its softness. It had the perfect ratio of fat to meat and paired well with a soy dipping sauce. Khao Soi was as good as everyone said it was-- the broth was incredibly rich and flavorful, the chicken was tender, and the crispy wonton strips complemented the soft noodles. This meal definitely made it to my list of favorite meals in Ann Arbor. While the meal was on the pricier end, I'd say it was well worth it.
