This store is amazing. I have a severe food allergy, which makes eating anywhere very difficult. Many places don't even know what allergens are in their food, so it's up to a guessing game of what is safe, which is risky, or not eating at all. I have gotten very used to just tagging along when friends want to get food and am perfectly understanding of that, as I know it is a lot of work for a store to keep up with. That said, I saw ice cream/sweets and just about knew there was nothing in there for someone with a soy allergy so I wasn't even going to bother asking (sweets are nearly impossible), yet someone I was with asked about what they had for people with a soy allergy. The woman working was AMAZING. She had an entire list of allergen information for everything in the store, and even changed out the ice cream container to a brand new one for me (without me asking her to), so that soy wouldn't have potentially made contact with my ice cream via the scooper. Food allergies are difficult to navigate at restaurants, but Kilwin's made it seem like it was no big deal and they were so helpful. Highly recommend this place for those with allergies! I couldn't have felt safer!

This place... WOW. Absolutely delicious!! Not only does this place smell amazing, but they have the most quality, delicious chocolate and ice cream I've ever had. Located in the heart of downtown Arlington Heights, this is the perfect spot to grab some dessert after eating dinner at the Arlington Alfresco! (the alfresco is an open area with restaurants and bars in downtown Arlington Heights that takes place in the summer time) I got a scoop of the cookie dough ice cream and another scoop of the cookies & cream ice cream in a cup. The ice cream was a 10/10, very rich and creamy. I've heard nothing but great things about Kilwins, and I'm definitely in store to try the chocolate covered marshmallows here. Come into Kilwins and get a caramel apple to get into the fall season spirit as the end of September is near - you won't regret it!
