Do you like Saltgrass Steak House but wish it had the same corporate ownership but felt less like a chain? Well, let me introduce you to King Ranch Texas Kitchen. The food is good. We tried an assortment of Houston Restaurant Week 2021 selections. The brisket queso and artichoke dip were solid starters and the Kingsville Chicken was unlike any chicken I've had in Kingsville (pretty sure that would be Golden Chick). Unfortunately, service was really weak. The HRW menu was available by request only. We saw the food runner far more than we saw our actual server. The server wasn't familiar with the menu, and we weren't able to get more drinks at the points in dinner when it would have made sense. I wouldn't write off King Ranch by any means, but there are much more exciting options in the Galleria area at this price point.
