This place opened right before the pandemic and I’m so glad they’ve managed to stay open. My husband and I were looking for some after dinner cocktails in Alexandria and figured there weren’t many options or we would have to go to a hotel but we found this gem in a little side door. All the cocktails we ordered were creative and delicious, service was great and this is on our list for a repeat visit or bringing friends who are visiting from out of town.

I've never been a VIP, nor known a person who is considered VIP. But coming across this place while in Old Town, I felt like a VVIP. We had a party of 3, and found a spot right away. It is a small area with not much lightening. We looked like old people pulling out our phones to use the flashlight, but we are who we are and not ashamed. lol I am not a drinker, so I stuck with water, but the other two in the party stated the cocktails were amazing. They tried a few different ones and each one had a candied treat to it. They loved it. We ordered a bunch of sushi and it was divine! The wait staff was pleasant and just made the experience feel even more like a private party. I'd definitely go again and I would tell everyone about this place!

King's Ransom is a fun little secret-but-not-secret in Alexandria, and definitely worth visiting if you like cocktails. King's Ransom is a gem of a bar in the middle of Old Town Alexandria. It's a cool mix of prohibition-style cocktails and Asian cuisine - a mix that results in some truly amazing cocktails. Honestly, I've never had a single cocktail here that I didn't absolutely love. One thing I particularly like about this place is the vibe - it's not trying to be a club, but rather is trying to be some hybrid of a nice speakeasy and bar. It's a great place for good conversation. That said, it's not a big place - make reservations or show up early and plan to wait. If you find yourself in the area, go here: it's a no-brainer.
