Korochka Tavern is an excellent place to get some Russian food. I have been interested in visiting for years and when they left Lake City, I was pretty disappointed, but was happy to hear they got a space in Wallingford. I finally visited on a Saturday afternoon after ordering online and enjoyed the dark interior of the bar with the wooden booths and wallpaper. My food was a to-go order of a borsch, piroshki, and large portion of pelmeni. Everything was excellent. Having grown up with all of those dishes, I’m always interested to see all the different variations of flavors. The borsch had a great red hue and lots of shredded cabbage and carrots.
