La Empanada Llama in Albany

My experience with La Empanada Llama is limited only to their stand at the Schenectady Greenmarket, but every time they're present, I get my hands on a $3 Spinach and Cheese empanada (and the occasional container of plantains). My oh my is it ever delicious. This place is a can't-miss stop when at the Greenmarket.

La Empanada Llama is a good choice for either take out or dining in. I am a big fan of the empanadas. There filling is flavorful and the crust is perfectly flaky and not chewy. I pretty much like all the choices I think the apple and the Mexican empanadas are my favorites. They also have some good side dishes including fried yucca and a bean salad. I haven't tried the other dishes as I had not heard good reviews but highly recommend everything else.Lastly you cannot finish a meal without the Peruvian cookie thing....

Empanada Llama is great and not only because I love saying the name! The restaurant is tucked in behind a strip mall and easy to miss if you're not paying attention. It has a small parking lot, with about 3-4 spots, so if you're in the bigger parking lot next door, just go next door.
