Lakeside Bistro in Allyn-Grapeview

We went to the pumpkin patch and then decided to stop into the bistro for an early dinner. I was nervous because we all had muddy boots and my 2 year old was being fairly cranky because she had skipped her nap time. The lady who served us made sure to put my insecurities to rest. "Don't worry hun! We clean everything all the time anyway." She was so kind, took the time to interact with my kids, and gave the girls some food to feed the fishies. They were super excited about this experience! She brought crackers right away. I thought this was so smart! She knows how hard it is for kids to wait to eat. Then she put my 2 year old, Annie's order in first so it would come out while the rest of us were still deciding on what to order. After that, she brought orange slices for Annie. By the end of the meal, Annie, couldn't stop talking to the server. Clearly some sort of impression was made, because Annie doesn't act that way towards just anyone. As we were leaving, the server even bought the girls a toy out of the vending machine! Who does that?! I'm really impressed, she really went above and beyond any service I've ever experienced, and we had a great meal as well.

I am a frequent at this restaurant and honestly I must say that the food is surprisingly good and consistent. It's obviously not near 5 star gourmet but it won't disappoint you. Also as a side note I'd say they have the best prime rib dip in Mason county. And that's coming from someone who tries the prime dip at almost every restaurant.

Four star for Allyn, but a three star anywhere else. We were sat quickly and the staff was super friendly. We got seated on the patio  which was nice since some ducks decided to have a bath and we got to watch the action. For our app we got the gorgonzola tri-tip which was just okay. I would order them much less well done next time but the cheese sauce was good. For mains we got the Caesar wrap and burger. The Wrap had croutons inside which was odd but good. The burger wasn't great. Probably began the day as a frozen puck. Both mains came with fries which were good because they had the skin on but weren't great because they were likely frozen. The drinks were fat and delicious. As was the Strawberry Shortcake. It's alright but nothing remarkable.
