Lewnes' Steakhouse in Annapolis

Fantastic wet aged steaks. Traditional steak house atmosphere and welcoming knowledgeable staff.

I’ve been torn on whether I should leave this review or just let the incident go, but it seems like the more time passes, the heavier this incident weighs on me.On November 5th my family went to Lewnes to celebrate my brother’s birthday. My partner and I were very excited, wore clothes we felt great in, and were so looking forward to the meal… the moment we walked in the door, one of the patrons seated in the front bar/dining area of the restaurant looked at my boyfriend and loudly said, “Oh, we’ve got a black one.”It was like the floor fell out from under us. Everyone continued dining as if they hadn’t heard anything, nobody stood up for him, maybe a few raised eyebrows but nobody seemed concerned about the fact that my boyfriend had been singled out and humiliated the instant we walked in the door. We ventured to Lewnes' Steakhouse per my brother's recommendation. It was his 30th birthday and we wanted to do something special to celebrate, and from his research, Lewnes' was highly rated as one of the best Steakhouses in Maryland. This being our first time here, I went ahead and made reservations the day of. It was a Sunday evening, so we weren't sure what to expect. We found parking to be a bit challenging. There was a public parking lot you could pay to park, but street parking appeared to be free. Aesthetics: The restaurant has a very comfortable and romantic atmosphere. As a lot of other Yelpers have mentioned, this place seems like the perfect spot to bring a date -- the dim lighting and private booth seating. The menu itself is pretty straight forward as well. You're not having to go through a million difference options to figure out what you want.
