Great vibe if you like music that is played way too loud for the space. I have no problem with volume but you need to understand the acoustics in your space before you just randomly crank the volume. Also they didn't have a Pilsner on tap so that's an issue.

Ironically enough, this is a bar for people who don't swear by yelp. this is a place for friends, family, and/or for people looking to make some. If you're looking for a smoke free bar, or are sensitive to "bar smells" this may not be the bar for you. This place is great, music is fantastic as are the bartenders. It's a bartenders bar, the best place to go after a long industry shift. Love this place! If you need yelp, you need another bar.

Live a couple a blocks from this spot. I pass it often but never had an excuse to go in (looks like your neighborhood watering hole with local regulars patronizing). Went there last night with cousins from out of town (they'd never been to alameda before) to each the College Football Championship game. Was pleasantly surprised by not only the cool local vibe, but how diverse the crowd was. It was truly reflective of what makes Alameda special. Alameda: the lovable but geeky cousin to the cool kid Oakland. In all its charm and sleepy-town feel, Lost Weekend give you all of it in a small, dark dive bar just off the main strip.
