Really good restaurant salad bars are hard to find these days.  But, Magic's Pizza Shack still has one and it is excellent! Ok, so how excellent can a salad bar be?  Well, this one hits all the marks pretty well.  A big mark to hit for any salad bar is maintenance.  Does the staff keep the salad bar picked up and tidy?  Do they replace containers of salad items promptly when empty or low?  Do they only put out an amount of greens which can be used shortly, so as to not have wilted or old lettuce sitting out for hours on end?  And answer is yes to all of these, and so much more. Is this the largest salad bar in town.  No.  Is is the most diverse salad bar around?  No.  But it is clean, fresh and what is on the bar is what you would expect. Let's get to the pizza.  Magic's doesn't serve artisan pizza.  And that's just fine.  They serve good American style pizza.  Just the right combination of bread, cheese and toppings.  Just greasy enough to remind you that it is pizza, but fresh and tasty.  You know this isn't corporate pizza joint pizza the moment it hits the table and your mouth.  So much better than that. Ambiance is very late 70s early 80s pizza place.  Dark paneling all around the dining room; the windows on the front of the building are golden colored obscure glass.  In spite of the dark coloring of the interior, it is "warm and cozy". The staff is super nice and it sure seems like they take pride in working there. They also have a banquet room for your larger group, dinner meeting or birthday party.
