Great venue, good food, awful beer. I really want to like this place, after coming here for the past couple of years. Service is friendly and quick. The burger, fish & chips, tacos etc is pretty solid pub food. The view out on the lake is fantastic and the deck is perfect for sitting out in the afternoon sipping beers but here lies the problem. I've never been very impressed with their beer, so I usually skip it, however on my last visit I did try a few different ales. Not sure what has happened but very off flavors in all 3 beers that I tried. Left the last one, it was that bad. Seems there's an infection somewhere in the brewery with that wet cardboard/band-aid taste that usually happens in home brewing vs a commercial setup. If the beer was drinkable I would give this 5 stars.

Great beer and excellent counter service but the oil used to fry the crispy chicken sandwich needed to be changed days ago. Too bad, since it seemed like it started out as a fresh piece of meat, but there’s no coming back for anything that got dropped in that old over burned up oil.

I'm a big fan of Magnuson Cafe & Brewery - their location is awesome, they have good beers and ciders on top to appeal to a variety of palates, they have decent espresso, and their food and drinks are fairly priced for the location. We really enjoy their cauliflower poppers with the smoked tomato aioli. We also recently tried the classic burger, which at under $10 with fries is a great deal for enjoying a lunch or dinner with a beautiful view of Lake Washington. Looking forward to coming back!
