We waited a week after the opening in hopes of letting the team work out the kinks that we all expect with opening a new restaurant. Perfect timing to celebrate my partner's birthday. Booked us and noted the birthday as well as a sesame allergy. The decor is quite nice with a tasteful nod to Arcadia's peacock mascot. An open and airy dining room, it was very comfortable. On to the food: our server Aide explained that plates are shared and would come out staggered, perfect, we share everything anyways. For starters we ordered the braised octopus, crispy quail and the melange of beets. Entrees were sea bass with sautéed mushrooms and the half roasted duck. Dessert was flourless chocolate cake. Braised octopus: Decent portions and flavor though still a bit toothsome. Crispy quail: I blame myself for not realizing this was going to be a battered and fried dish. Nothing against orange chicken but this really reminded my of it, which I could have handled if done well but I only ate half of one piece. I found the breading to be a bit soggy versus crispy and the tangerine ginger glaze too sweet. Melange of beets: A nice dish, good variety of beets, the goat cheese...
