Sad to say this isn't same dependable dinner i grew up to know. Service was good, however they got my order wrong.I wanted steak fingers got chicken tenders (can order anywhere) even had a long discussion with waiter b4 ordering still messed it up. Food Plain to taste. Requested Texas toast substitute for mel burger, no longer can substitute. Cookie cutter dinner not home town dinner like they were known for

Great food and service is what I say about this place! The waiter was on his job today, not very personable but still did a great job. The portion sizes are huge so you definitely get your money's worth for sure and delicious to go along with that. If you're in the area I highly recommend this hidden little jewel!

I've been a HUGE fan of Mel's Country Cafe for more than 20 years. That said; I don't know what's happened to them over the past several years.Today I ordered chicken tenders; cabbage, & fries, & the only thing that was decent were the fries. The chicken wasn't crispy, & tasted like fish; the cornbread was cold, and cabbage was so old that it had a bad odor & tasted like Sauerkraut!I know business must be slow during this pandemic, but YOU GUYS ARE BETTER THAN THIS, & YOUR CUSTOMERS DESERVE BETTER FROM YOU.
