We had high hopes for a grand meal. A dear friend had given us a gift certificate before COVID and we finally were ready to use it. My salad was good and my husband liked his soup. I ordered the filet and my husband the prime rib. The baked potatoes were ruined by the off putting cheese sauce they put in it. My steak was ordered to be medium well and it was very raw. I sent it back and it came...

Food was good! Service was great! Except the bs. on the service charge part which we knew about it when we made a resevation online. The service charge normally applies on bigger party like 6+ which is continually change over the years. Now the server had a need to tell us to read and try to understand that this 20% service charge is not for the server but the company which in turn spread around and server would get almost like nothing? So you're expecting us to pay tip 20% on top of 20% service charge . If the company really care for your employees, you should pay them out of your profit not to keep your profit and give your employees raise(extraordinary benefits) by put the burden on your customers. Don't tell me you don't have much of the profit! Your side order of Mac and cheese is $14! Come on!Stop trying to nickel and dime your customers! Increase your food prices probably better than doing this s**t.

Have been a fan of this place for 30+ yrs. No more. Food was good. Expensive, but I expect that from an iconic steakhouse. But the bill included “20% service charge all retained by the company to pay competitive salaries”. The bill advised I could add a tip for exceptional service. This seemed to be a surprise that was not well disclosed in advance. If the menu said that a 20% service charge would be added to the bill I missed it or it was hidden in tiny font. The bill included a line for me to add a tip. First time in my life I have left $0 tip, but it seemed like this is just a scam to ripoff tourists who don’t look too close at the bill. Enjoy the Metropolitan Grill, but just be careful not to tip 40% to these greedy MF’ers.
