If you haven't been to Metzger, you're missing out. My husband and I went for the 2nd time tonight. The food and service were stellar both times. It's cravably delicious. The servers made us feel so comfortable when we asked questions. Neither of us have had German cuisine specifically before, so that made us feel really welcome. A must try in RVA!

I had been hoping to visit Metzger Bar and Butchery for a while, so was glad to stop in over the weekend for dinner. I decided to go right when they opened to avoid any wait. I grabbed a seat at the full service bar and ordered the Sirloin Stroganoff. At the first bite I was already very happy with my choice. The pasta was delicious, the steak was perfect, and the creme fraiche brought everything together. The meal didn't come with bread but I couldn't imagine letting the remaining sauce go to waste. So I added an order of sourdough and thoroughly cleaned my plate. Service was great and I enjoyed the vibe. I'll definitely be back to try more.
