Mi Chola in Aspen

Bad experience, don't recommend, definitely not coming back. I ordered the goat cheese quesadilla, they were mediocre I would say, good if you are hungry, and I also ordered the fajitas, they were the worst thing i ever ate in a restaurant so far, first of all the plating was laughable, the peppers and onions were cold and some of them raw, the grilled chicken was dry and cold , there in the platte was thrown the sour cream above the guacamole, both of them very little. The food give me stomach ache from the moment I was leaving the restaurant.The service was bad, the host wasn't pleased that i didn't want to sit where he suggested ( at the bar) although the restaurant was kinda of empty, the server would not check on me when I actually need him too ( it wasn't that hard to tell) many times i was trying to catch his attention and he would not actually look, but when I was with food in my mouth he would come to talk with me , like come on, have some common sense. The restroom at this place looks similar to a restroom in a Greyhound buss station, definitely not a respecta...

Awesome place to party in downtown aspen

My family and I came to visit Aspen and we were told that Mi chola was the best restaurant to go to. We loved it. Great food and great drinks. Why one star?  Because on our 4th visit there, we noticed there was a gratuity added to our tab. We didn't mind paying for it but we were just curious why this time it was added and not the other 3 times we were here. So we asked the manager (who turned out to be the owner) Adam why it was added to our bill. He told us that the last time we were there we didn't tip. Every time we went we left $40+ in tips! My entire family works in the food service industry, we all understand how important tipping is. We just found it so ridiculous that they did that. It also made us think that they were talking bad about us in the back. Adam told us that he did it to protect his servers because they live off their tips. We all work as servers! We know that! We felt very disrespected. We had purchased some shirts from them as well on our second visit there but we got a refund on them.
