Great service, excellent food, the best sushi in town!

Miki was my favorite sushi spot for YEARS. New management just took over and let me tell you it’s become a joke. Terrible management, if you go in a group of 4 or more you split the bill EVENLY and pay for what isn’t yours because “the system says we have to do it like that” per new extremely unprofessional manager. Oh, her solution was “you can all just Venmo each other”.. to a group of 8 people. While the sushi is still incredible here, the service is not worth it. Save your money and go somewhere else for peace of mind :)

I'm updating my previous review of Miki Japanese Restaurant, which had recently undergone an ownership change. Located in downtown A2, just two blocks west of Main, Miki has long been a favorite place for sushi  in a town with many reputable Japanese options. In an effort to support our local restaurants, we ordered takeout tonight as indoor dining continues to be off limits in Michigan.   We started with a some assorted Gyoza, both steamed and fried, a few basic hand rolls as well as an order of Kani Shumai (steamed crab dumplings).  This was my first time to try the crab dumplings and they blew me away with their surprising lightness and buttery crab flavor.  Yum! The Chicken Teriyaki Bento box served as my wife's choice while I hit the Beef Yakisoba. The stir-fried yellow buckwheat noodles and veggies were perfectly complimented with the thinly sliced quality strips of steak.  This won't be the last time I order Yakisoba at Miki...it was delish! I'm notching up my previous 4-star rating to 4.5 and then rounding up to crown my first dinner at Miki since the management transition.
