We had a late lunch there yesterday and it was a big disappointment. The food was cold and dry they didn’t bring everything we ordered at the same time they brought one plate at a time and then silverware then napkins. They brought some green salsa in a squeeze bottle it tasted just like wasabi it looked like grounded up pulp it was disgusting. None of it was good. We paid 45.00 for two people. I felt we we were overcharged and the service and food was poor. Will not be going back ever.

We had the taco plate, and ordered more tacos! The flautas and the quesadillas (sincronizada) are awesome also!

Mimi's Restaurant in Amarillo serves cubanas, tortas, huaraches, sopes, gorditas, flautas and more authentic Mexican food. It stands sandwiched between a Subway and a Burger King on Ross Street north of I-40. Looking a little like a Mexican diner, Mimi's inside emits the atmosphere of a small restaurant in Monterrey or Hermosillo. You order standing at the counter then choose your seat at a table or booth. A juke box plays traditional Mexican music, including polkas and ballads. Mimi's serves domestic and imported soft drinks and beers. We particularly liked the Mango beverage and the Victoria beer. Driving north or south on Ross Street from the Interstate, you can choose from multiple franchise places--Sonic, Taco Bell, Arby's, KFC and several other national fast-food chains. Or you can enjoy Mimi's hand-made and real Mexican food--not Tex-Mex--but authentic Mexican.
