Excellent in every way. I went in at around 8:00 p.m. on a Tuesday night. They were slow, and I hoped there wasn't a reason for that. I sat at the sushi bar and ordered a seaweed salad, a roll and a Japanese soda. Each was prepared and served quickly. Each properly balanced flavor, texture and presentation. The dining area was impeccably clean and created an open yet comfortable atmosphere. This was my best sushi experience in the Des Moines area in at least 10 years. I highly recommend Mizu.

I've been here a couple of times and the food is good. I took my family of 6 here on Labor Day (a Monday) for lunch. When we were settled and got our drinks, we were told they weren't offering food off the lunch menu, that we had to order off the more expensive dinner menu. The menu said lunch not available on Sundays but nothing about a holiday. Then, a number of us ordered the Mizu Fried Rice dinners that the menu said would come with soup and salad. We were then told we could only have soup OR salad, not both.I don't appreciate any establishment not honoring what is on their menus. Do what's right! Even though the food is good, I'm not sure I'll be back.Updated to 3 stars since they brought us a free dessert.

The food is great, can't say the same about the service. Sorry the appetizers were gone before I could take the pictures they were that good.
