The chips, salsa, and queso were exceptionally tasty. The rest of our dining experience was not. While the service was fine, the menu presents many traditional Mexican dishes--but they are prepared in somewhat nontraditional manner, and we did not find them as tasty as expected. FULL DISCLOSURE: I lived in Southern California for more than 50 years, so I was able to enjoy a great variety of Mexican fare in both traditional and innovative dishes. Mountain Madre doesn't come close to what I have learned great Mexican food tastes. Worse, their prices are way out of line for what they serve. Asheville is far from a Mexican mecca, but there are a few much better Mexican restaurants.

Excellent Service and food.I would most definitely return here.I had my very first margaritas (age 55..lol) it was outrageously delicious. Apparently they make them; "very differently from the norm"Very casual, relaxed and comfortable restaurant. Outside was the choice and it was great.Photos are of their pretty water bottles. LOL I thought they were pretty.
