We stayed here over Thanksgiving week and we will definitely come back. Although a little outdated, the units were cozy, the beds quite comfortable and the wood stove was great for fires each night. Wifi works great but there is a good chance you won't have much cell phone reception or use of secure data. But isn't the idea to enjoy nature in a place like this and put down those devices for a bit? The staff are super friendly and the Lobby was always open for pool, foosball, swimming, etc. Plenty to do around nature wise as well with things like hiking around the golf course, fishing in nearby White Pines lake, Mercer caverns, etc. There are markets and restaurants within a 10-20 minute drive and there is a place right on CA-4 that serves fresh apple cider, incredible fruit turnovers, strudels, pies, etc. This place is straight out of a story book and it will leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated with great memories to take bac...

Stayed at the Mountain Retreat Resort which was a very pleasant experience. 8 people comfortably stayed there. It is about 40 minutes from Bear Valley.
