This place disappointed. We came for a birthday and saw positive reviews on yelp. But something has changed. Maybe the cooks day off??? The fish and chips had zero seasoning. I mean none, zilch, nada, no salt, no old bay... you get it. The bacon burger missed too. Medium rare turned into rare, and the fries were cardboard, and no salt. Bland and cold, but we tried sending it back, the waitress told us they could bring more but it will be just as cold because the kitchen is really backed up, offered to take the fries back and drop them in the fryer, the entire table started to laugh, and then realized a waitress was serious. The calamari, not fully cooked. Nice flavor, but not left in the fryer long enough. Corn chowder, I was told was, milk, corn, and carrots. Wow! Long and short, this place failed. I will update if I come back, but it will be a hard pill to swallow. I like to give second chances when something is this bad. The positives were a bunch of tvs, large cheap beers, open seating (the bathroom's a walk) and no loud foul language. Know this place has promised so I need to come back.

Visited for Friday lunch. Not as busy as they are on weekends, but, service and food were on point. My friend and I started with fried oysters which were great. My friend had the pit beef sandwich with chips and I had the Roseda burger with fries and pickle. As stated, food was good, but, the portions seemed less generous and prices were up versus prior visits. The burger, though delicious, seemed small. For ten bucks, I really can't complain since it is locally sourced from a great operation. An idea would be to raise the price from 10 up to about 15 bucks, offer a larger, more substantial burger. Maybe I should not complain during this horrific inflationary cycle. All said, we'll return and hope for the best. I know times are challenging.

What a scene today! The place was packed with folks playing the ponies watching races from Churchill Downs, Belmont Park and others. Very lively and fun crowd! We sat at the bar and were treated with great service with Lauren and Mario. We ordered pit Turkey and beef sammies with accompaniments. Along with our adult beverages, of course! You cannot go wrong with $7 32oz draught beer or the craft cocktails. The food is a great value. My buddy even ordered a half dozen raw oysters. I tried one with a blend of hot sauce and horseradish and loved it. We were there almost two hours and then travailed north for a cigar. Nicks is a great spot for food and fun. Gotta go back soon.
