This is hands down to worst sushi I've EVER had. I wasn't expecting 5 star but I've literally had better sushi from a gas station. My maki roll was cut horrendously and unevenly - seriously some pieces were 2" wide which made it near impossible to eat. The ahi on it was trash. I don't know if the sushi or the customer service was worse. After the group in front of me ordered, the lady didn't take my order until aaaafter their order was filled, which took 10 minutes at least. Then when I finally ordered and got my sushi 10 minutes later, I asked for wasabi and she straight up said "no - this roll doesn't need wasabi."

Always love coming to pearlridge and pass by this sushi place often. Never tried it and figured I wanted to give it a go. I really have mixed feelings about my experience but overall probably won't be coming back. There was no one in line and only a couple ahead of me who already ordered and waiting to the side. I probably stood there for 15-20 minutes without a hello or anything but saw there was only 1 lady working doing everything. Although the customers before me did have a large order or assorted sushi I was a little upset the worker didn't apologize for the wait and also to the line behind me. Maybe she was overwhelmed? The spicy ahi bowl caught my eye as the picture showed that it came with miso soup however I could not find the price anywhere. It came out to $15. Which is definitely expensive, but figured because of its possible high mall rent or maybe cut of fish could be factors. I paid anyway as I had already stood in line. I noticed a few people who walked pass waves to say "hi aunty" I'm assuming they were talking to her but maybe not as she didn't acknowledge them. Lol My order didn't look like a spicy ahi bowl as it was plated differently with fresh salad and cut into huge cubes rather than smaller cubes in the picture. So definitely don't use the pictures as reference when ordering. Check through yelp pictures to get a better idea as to what you are ordering. I wasn't really mad that it was in a different container as Hawaii is getting more strict with reusable plastics and companies are trying to find eco friendly and budget friendly alternatives. Similar to a few recent reviews of this place, I was very disappointed with several things at this Aloha Sushi location in Pearlridge. First off, the Korean looking woman who was probably the owner, was almost hidden behind the counter so I had to ask whether she was open. She responded, "Wat you like?" in not the friendliest of tone. I ordered avocado, cucumber, & shinko hosomaki rolls. I saw her behind the plexiglass hurriedly making my order, but noticed that her mask was NOT covering her nose. I was going to say something but thought it would be worse for her to touch her mask in the middle of making my sushi, so I just prayed that she wouldn't sneeze or breathe on my food. Though she filled the order pretty fast, the picture I posted shows how sloppy the sushi looked- uneven cuts, loose rice coming out of the nori, just throwing them into a container- not even trying to separate them by ingredient. I took pic after eating some but it actually looked worse when I got the order because of her lack of presentation. I can honestly say that this is the ugliest sushi that I have ever purchased. I was hoping to at least get a thank you after she rung me up, and I made eye contact hoping to hear those words, but all I got was a nod- maybe that was her silent way of saying, "Mahalo". Nope, not going back to this place again. 1 star for the sushi tasting just okay...lots of other sushi places close by to patronize.
