My wife and I were craving Chinese food and this was recommended to us by a friend. We are always cautious with recommendations because we are fairly picky as far as quality goes. In the 3 years I've lived in Yakima this is the best Chinese we have eaten! The taste and overall quality was really good, and the portions were massive! I would recommend Chinese Gourmet Garden to anyone craving some classic Chinese food. Only let down was that the "Spicy" items left me wanting more heat, otherwise delicious.

Very low quality of food, not tasty and poorly prepared

My family use to love & crave this place, but something has drastically changed over the past year or so. My boyfriend won't even eat it anymore when I do order, so I only buy for myself. They also went with a cheaper soy sauce for togo orders around that same time, so basically have some on hand at home or you will go without (in our opinion). Tonight I went to get food for myself again & I wanted to die, PRICES WENT WAAAY UP! Here we are just getting out of a pandemic, so I get it & I don't get it. This is a local family owned restaurant in a smaller community, so I find it hard to believe they just jack the prices WAY up!? I honestly would never be saying anything if it was just a slight price increase or small set percentage across the board on their menu, but it wasn't.... There is absolutely NO consistency whatsoever, ranging from 16% to over 30% (from what I calculated, which I figured a couple items from each category on the menu). I am truly disgusted & I have never saw this before. It's like they just said "Let's go up $1.50 on this... $2 on this... 2.50 on this... $4 on that!" I personally do not believe this was the appropriate nor good-business/professional way to go about price increases. Not to mention NO signs or notices to customers, I asked because I was sure there was a mistake. Luckily I had enough money! Staff is always friendly, but I just don't think I can support this (or afford it)
