Towns of much larger size have nothing on Alex City when it comes to wine bars. Henry has a nose for the classic greats but also for up and coming wineries offering well-valued vintages. His humidor is like a candy store for cigar aficionados. Local art is displayed and can be purchased. He often holds wine tastings and his wife, Mary Ann, who prefers to stay behind the scenes, provides delicious finger foods to help open up the wines' flavors. By day, they serve a wonder light lunch. Blair and all the staff are knowledgeable and treat you like family. It's a great evening when they stay open a little later, and you can snuggle into a comfy sofa and chat up the colorful locals..with a great little glass of vino. Salute!

Great setting and atmosphere and knowledgeable owner and staff. We love stopping by for one or two drinks to wind down after a long day. Give them a shot, you will love the wine and the cheese.

I have eaten at the Emporium many times. The food is always good, and the service is friendly and quick. A real bonus is getting to view all the wonderful art by local artists--and even buy some if you fall in love with a piece The wine selection is good and varied. A great local place.
