Not a safe place to stay. B&E [breaking and entering] is an increasing occurrence at Surfsand Resort. A burgler broke into my wife's suite last night, 3rd floor, @surfsandresort [while my wife was sleeping in the room] and stole her purse. The immediate danger is this could escalate in to physical harm of person, or persons. Police said these B&E's have been an ongoing issue for past few years at Surfsand. Obviously, Surfsand Resort ( Martin Hospitality - property management @explorecannonbeach ) are very aware, but clearly have not invested in additional prevention measures or made changes in their "Safety Plan" to futher safeguard guests, my family or yours, from clear and present dangers that have been reported to the local authorities in the past. My wife was there attending a corporate event, she was alone in her room, she closed (locked by habit) the sliding door and windows before going to bed, located in the seperate sleeping area, away from the sliding door that the burglar entered thru, between the hours of 11pm-5am.
