Podi dosa in Artesia

A great place to try Ghee dosas with a variety of spicy powders. Uthappam is also prepared with a traditional slow cooking style. Gonguga biryani is a decent option for biryani lovers. Gratuity not going to servers is the reason for reducing a star from my review.

It a drive for us if we crave South Indian food almost 1.5 hr to get to The infamous PODI DOSA of Artesia.We called ahead but we’re told that they do not make reservations and its on 1st come 1st serve basis…but upon arrival we found that there is an actual list so I did put my name in … but to my surprise there were 4 names ahead of mine and not a soul to be found near us… so I asked what happened here and was told these are there local clients and they can call ahead.Finally we get to sit down after 45 mins and for next 15 mins we were not even served water.We asked and finally got Water… and we got a sever (Thank God) to take our order but only 1 Menu on the table for 6 of us so everyone was looking to chose and the server abruptly stoped and told the he has other things to do and he will be back when we are ready to order.We finally ordered after been there 1.5 hr and to no surprise no water refills either..:The final surprise came when food arrived but we did not have any plates or cutlery and upon several requests we were told that they are in process of washing dishes and will be available as soon as they get done… clock was ticking and at 2:15 mins later we got 2 plates and cutlery for 2 and rest of us were still waiting.2:30 mins later we have plates and cutlery but food was all cold …And the kicker was there was 18 % gratuity all ready included on...

Great place for all kinds of dosa and even North Indian food. The South Indian dosas are very original and true to what they are. One best thing I hope they never change is that their portion sizes are just amazing. You really enjoy the portion size and the taste of the food you get for what you pay. Amazing place. Must go.
