Visited this place for the first time. Anytime I visit a Latin restaurant I have high expectations. I agree with others on the reviews about the juices. They really are good. However the arroz con gandules..could've been better the rice was hard as if it had been sitting out for 2-3 days. That set a really bad tempo for my experience. Furthermore, the waitress got an attitude when I called her on it. She rolled her eyes as she was walking away with the rice. The bistec encebollado was okay it could've been seasoned a little better. The white rice and red beans were good. Her table side manner and the old hard rice is the reason for the low score. The food is so good! Sometimes I'll walk to Sofrito with my brother with 10 dollars in my pocket. My usual order is 4 empanadas/patelitos de carne (highly reccomend!), and the 10 is enough. They also have Country Club soda which is a staple in Latinx culture. Only basic Spanish is needed to order, and if you don't understand it, that's nothing a Google Translate search can't fix :)
