The Grove At Woodbound Inn in Rindge

First time out at least six visits that we have been disappointed here. Sat in the pub where we usually do. Worst cosmo my wife has ever had. Rudy’s Old Fashioned not up to par or previous visits. Lots of training talk and other banter among staff that we could not help overhearing. Swordfish was edible but dry. Probably old. Should have suspected when we got the last 2 of this “special” and it was only 5:30. Sure we will try again but very sad when you really look forward to going back to a place you love and they disappoint so significantly. Our waitress, Tracy, was a gem and we still tipped her well, but we hope our next visit is a lot better.

We have always frequented but regardless of Covid there are is no excuse for cleanliness as a matter of fact everything should be cleaner. We always sit in the bar area when possible. The shelves that hold the glasses used are noticeably dusty and dirty (classes upside down so what we drink out of is directly in contact. Not that we drink beer but the taps look dirty and the mat under is disgusting. As for the food it was quite good. The vegetables where cooked very well and the entrée was good (a tad bit bland for both my wife and I) but we were pleased with the food. I'm disappointed the menue has lost the Chicken Pot Pie and why when they made so much Fried Calamari is that off the menue as well? (If the kitchen staff tells you they made alot of Chicken Pot Pie and Calamari I'd think it was a big seller). Hopefully things turn around for the winter months, I hope...

We ate at The Grove at Woodbound Inn twice in the last week.  Both times we had outstanding service and the food was incredible.  It had been a while since we last ate at the Grove, and for good reason.  But on a chance we headed back this week and were amazed at the quality of the food.  We'll be back, again!
