I was early for an appointment in the area on Dec 8, 2017 and decided to give this place a try. Nothing about my dining experience was good here. I ordered a toasted everything bagel with light cream cheese to which the cashier replied "no." No other explanation was given for the "no," I had to play fifty-questions to get to the part where they were out of light cream cheese. My bagel was toasted either extremely lightly or not at all and was cut in half from the top again. You do not do that unless a customer asks for it. The coffee was lukewarm. The place was dirty and there is a weird - couch with a brown disheveled slipcover, coffee table and tv configuration in the corner of the restaurant reminiscent of an old car mechanic's waiting room. The Women's Restroom was an odd experience too, the soap, toilet paper and paper towels all sat on top of their respective dispensers, not sure if this is laziness on their part or if all of these things are broken. Will not be back.

So I want to start off by saying the food here is great. But there is one issue for me, the past 3 times I have tried to eat here they have been closed, in the middle of the day. Yesterday I looked online to make sure they were open, and the website/google said they were open for normal hours. I drove all the way from Woodbridge only to get there and found a paper sign that said closed on Sundays..... so moral of the story if you are going to change your days open or hours make sure you update your websites. I will not be returning for the small fact that I've wasted gas on 3 separate occasions.

NY Bagel Cafe & Deli is located in the Hilltop Shopping Center, right down the little road from the Wegman's. There is street parking, and also parking lots galore so no worries about finding a spot. I popped in here this morning before my grocery trip. It's very recently opened, so I have been looking forward to giving them a shot. Right when I walked in I was greeted by two people who were more than happy to talk to me about the bagels and let me know they were currently baking more. Huge props for alerting me to warm bagels coming out of the oven! I ended up ordering a bacon, egg and cheese on an everything bagel. I wasn't crazy about the bacon, but the egg was really well cooked and my sandwich was clearly fresh...it came out piping hot. I love melty cheese so that was a huge plus. The bagel itself had good flavors, and was all in all just fine. It's definitely not the big, chewy NY bagel the name would have you hope for, but it's still good. From the looks of the menu they also have fresh smoothies and deli sandwiches, so I'll give those a try in the future! Again, the people who were working there were very nice, the place is spotless, and for a bacon, egg and cheese and a coffee I only paid about $6. I'll return.
