We went to Osteria La Spiga for Valentine's Day. Thanks to traffic and parking, we were about 10 minutes late for our reservation, but we called to let them know, and it wasn't a problem. We were seated upstairs, in a loft overlooking the rest of the restaurant and the street below. All of the food was fantastic.Meat and Cheese Board: Amazing salami and olives, with good condiments and cheese to round it out.Crostini: These were my highlight. The tenderest filet I've had, with mellow paté.Fried Polenta: Light and airy, these were very good.Sturgeon: Very good piece of fish, but felt a bit one note with the light zucchini noodles and sauce. Would have liked something bolder to play against the hearty fish.Wild boar shank: The star entree. This was amazing, not too gamey and melted in your mouth.Mushroom Tortelli: Also amazing, very mushroomy while not being one-note.Tiramisu: The best tiramisu I've had in the area. Soft and creamy, great coffee flavor.Panna Cotta: Light and springy, with a delicious berry coulis.

Food was good, nothing spectacular, but very solid. Service was terrible last night though. Probably won’t be back. Went to celebrate an anniversary which started at La Spiga, and sadly will likely be our last time. 10 (!) minutes before we were greeted by the server. No QR codes on the table for the menu, and though we later found out they had one at the host desk, we certainly didn’t know that at first as no one told us and they make you wait outside while waiting for your reservation to be ready. 19 (!) minutes from the time we sat down to get two club sodas. Food was good though.

Ok, I don't have lots of time for a detailed review so I'll keep it brief. They don't keep the menu QR codes at the table so you need to ask for one. The hostess gives you a bathroom code right when you get there which you'll never remember. The appetizers were just ok, and the main courses were horrible. Out of the 4 people in our group, not one of us thought the meals were good. Two of us had pasta, one had gnocchi and the other had the rockfish. All were bland and the fish was phishy. Anyhow, when I go to a nice restaurant, I hope to use adjectives like delicious, fantastic, and amazing. The adjectives that I would use for Osteria La Spiga are bland, boring, flavorless. The only thing good about last night was the service.
