I've said before that I think Outback Steakhouses are going downhill. We probably should have left when we saw the mess (food and napkins) on the floors but we had a reservation and it was a Birthday request so we stayed. Our Server, Charles, was great (even though he's a Cowboy's Fan) and the food came out very quickly, but you could immediately tell it had been pre-prepared and had been sitting in warmers and under headlamps for awhile. (Probably why it came out so fast but definitely not prepared fresh.) We ordered the Filet Mignon with Coconut Shrimp and a loaded Baked Potato. The filet was charred on the outside and a bit dried out and the shrimp were overcooked and also dried out and the "loaded" potato had barely a teaspoon of sour cream and a few chives. Everything was only lukewarm. Oh, and we got 5 spears of asparagus for our "Premium" side order. A filet mignon should not have any gristle or tough spots but ours did. (Not convinced it was a filet mignon but it was so charred on the outside and shrunken that it was difficult to tell.) Charles was so busy we didn't want to bother him about the quality of the food we got. We did ask for more toppings for the baked potato and he happily got it for us fairly quickly. He was attentive and responsive even though it was a busy night and he had several tables. So, the service was good but the food was not...not for the money anyway. I probably won't go back to an Outback Steakhouse again.
