palm tree cafe in Anaheim

It's ok, the food is like something you'd make at home in 5 minutes to get out the door fast. Except they take 45 minutes to get it to you. But the simulation of using whatever is available is spot on. The prices are what you'd charge if you were the only restaurant in town. Oh yeah, you're kinda trapped. If you drive away, you pay $16 again! Woo hoo. Captive market! The employees are nice and I think they're doing the best they can. The kitchen is making food for other people, they were clearly busy. The service being incredibly slow isn't likely their fault. I'm going with cheap uncaring management on this one. It is what it is. Don't expect much and you'll be ok.

Don't bother going to this place even if you're staying at the hotel. You get a 15% discount on food if you're staying in the hotel, but even then it's not worth it. The drinks aren't good and the food is worse. I got pasta and it tasted like soap. Stay away from this place. There are a ton of good restaurants around the area, this is not one of them.

I was at an educational conference at the Anaheim Convention Center and had about an hour lunch break.  Starving and on a time constraint, the Clarion Anaheim Hotel is nearby and the Palm Tree Café is located inside the hotel -so, I decided to eat here.   Luckily, I arrived before the conference crowd discovered the restaurant.  I was seated right away and before you know it, the wait was 40 minutes for a table.  I absolutely loved the service! I was one of the first ones, taking up a whole booth and not one time during my lunch hour, was I rushed or given the bill to hurry up and pay.  Despite the long line of customers, my server gave me the check when I was completely done, ready to pay and he graciously checked on me from time to time.  My server filled my water glass without me asking or flagging him down (even with the drought in So. Cal -lol. Some may think that's irresponsible, but I appreciated the service. I was thirsty too!). I ordered the tuna wrap and fries.  Tuna was moist and my meal was filling.  I gave it 4 stars for service, 3 stars (A-OK) for food and ambiance.
