Used to live in the area, went back after more than 10 years and it's still a classic I would recommend to anyone who enjoys hotdogs

I started going here because my mom used to spend her Alameda High school lunches here as a kid.The dogs are good the prices are reasonable.Service by the owner is a hit/miss experience. .. Try to catch him on a good day ... But go there for the food ...

It's a cute hole in the wall hot dog stand, decorated like a small diner. Very cute inside, but could use a good mopping and cleaning if I had to be honest. There were two small tables outside which I appreciated. The employee, which I think is owner, is also very nice but there wasn't anything special about the customer service. The reason why I am giving them a lower review is because of their veggie hot dog, it was gross! First, he microwaved the hot dog and the bun (as mentioned by another reviewer!) and it was overcooked, bad texture, and too hot to eat - so I had to wait and then the bun got really hard. 100% not the place to go for a veggie dog, I'm sure their meat dogs are better. Price was decent, it seems like everything is in the $5-8 range. The veggie dog ended up being about $7. Given all of the restaurants nearby, I honestly don't think this would be my go to at all.
