I used to be doubtful about PCC because I've heard that the prices are expensive. I've finally went to one and I have been convinced otherwise. I think the biggest takeaway is the produce and meat quality. They are way better and at a different level than say a Trader Joe's. The price for produce is somewhat comparable. But other than that the other grocery items are indeed expensive. I've tried the sandwiches and pre packaged hot bar items and pastries, and they are all delicious and great for a quick pick up meal. The quality is definitely there, but it does come with a price and you get what you pay for.

Really nice grocery store that's got great prepared foods, wine selection and local products. The staff are great, helpful and knowledgeable. It's a very good addition to the Central District!

Great place unless you want to risk being profiled and risk having a terrible experience. maybe they hired a few bad apples, maybe these people or this locations lacks the basic human benevolence, maybe i just get unlucky and this never happens to others, maybe what i experienced was just another example of the true lack of compassion people and companies show despite an outward presentation of good. you will most likely continue to support pcc despite my review, but i want to remind everyone that it is necessary to be critical and mindful of a company's claim and image of inclusivity and care. it is their efforts to create a profitable image with humanity and heart as secondary bonuses that are far less important than the profitable image they masterfully create for themselves. from my own experience i can not go to pcc with even the most simple expectations to not be profiled by my appearance. i will not share my race, economic class, gender, etc because that should not matter.
