I love Pho Binh. I have been coming here for years. My only complaint is the lack of parking. Since the whiskey bar moved in next door, it has gotten even worse. If you're willing to park in the lot down the street for $5, it's worth the walk for some pho, vermicelli bowls, and finishing with a slice of cake. My favorites off their menu: pork fried dumplings, shrimp pho, combination meat vermicelli bowl, and a slice of their Tollhouse cake, which is yellow cake with chocolate icing that has chocolate chips in the icing and a sprinkling of brown sugar.

Many folks have tabbed Pho Binh, though admittedly not necessarily this location, as the best purveyor of traditional pho in the Houston area. But unfortunately, I can't say that I agree after my long-anticipated first trial. The atmosphere and décor are casual-chic, with counter service, multi-colored lights, and faux-wood tabletops.
