So I was skeptical at paying an additional $29/pp to eat here on our Holland America Oosterdam Alaskan Cruise. Especially considering the sit down dinners seemed good enough. But I'm the end I'm glad I did! You can still order as many appetizers as you want and as many desserts as you want. However you can only order 1 entree. But any additional entrees are $15. Some entrees are automatically an additional $15 but allow you to order an extra entree free of charge. All the apps were good. Cocktail shrimp could have been colder (or on a bed of ice) and come with some horseradish. Mushroom soup was great. Steak tartare was good but lacking the raw egg and some salt. Lobster bisque was just ok but I'm not much of a bisque person. Candied bacon weren't really candied, more just in some orange marmalade glaze but still tasty. Steals were cooked well except for 2 people in our party. One was a T-bone steak which came out thin and tough. The other was a fliet ordered medium but came out well done. A replacement came out medium rare. (Yes yes steaks should be enjoyed medium rare. But that should also be cooked as requested.) Desserts were good. Pass on the Alaskan bake. Chocolate soufflé was my fav.
