Always fantastic. Thoughtful dishes, well executed, lots of food. Beautiful decor, it feels comfortable, yet still like an elevated experience.

Nice place. Need a bigger menu. Touch in the high side but good none the less

We had a very nice brunch here on July 4th! How we got here was really interesting. On our first night in Des Moines, we were walking around Pappajohn Sculpture Garden and I started talking to a couple sitting on a bench while Eric R. took pictures of a bachelorette party of girls wearing red, white, and blue wigs with matching dresses. The bartender was super friendly and told us all about the restaurant, which is part of a local group of three restaurants. Eric R. started with a spicy bloody mary. He was impressed with its potency. He ordered the bread pudding French toast and, in a weird moment of...strangeness, a side of sauteed shrimp (since he decided not to get shrimp and grits). I ordered the chicken and waffles with raspberry chipotle maple syrup. When the food came out, wow, the portions were huge! My waffle was a liege (Belgi...
