Visited this place for the first time and was HIGHLY disappointed. Right when you walk in, the strong smell of stinky tofu just slaps you in the face. I wouldn't consider myself a total fan of the dish but I do not want it to be the first thing I smell walking into any restaurant. Secondly, the lady that takes the order is grumpy, short and definitely lacks service/people skills and she clearly looks like she doesn't want to be...

A true gem and an incredible fantastic find. Been craving authentic Taiwanese cuisine, not the typical beef noodle or pork chop rice, but restaurant level authentic Taiwanese cuisine. Searched all over Orange County and boy did I find what I was looking for. Not much to look at from the outside, enter off the hallway door in the parking lot of Quest. The glass door off the street is locked. As soon as you approach the inside hallway door, that amazing aroma of basil, garlic, and the sensory overload that rivals any night market hits you. A bit skeptical at first since a four star rating these days can sometimes be a two star restaurant. All the skepticism melted away at the first bite. Brought back memories of Taipei seafood restaurants, the plump juiciness of the three cup little cuttlefish, the freshness of the Taiwanese small oysters and contrasting basil garlic sauce, wow! To top it off, a stinky tofu large intestine called the large intestine stinky, not to be mistaken with the five root large intestine, an explosion of flavor that keeps you wanting for just one more bite. Three bowls of rice later and an onset of food coma, the faint thoughts of "gotta go back and try everything else" slowly fades into the starry skies as I drift off to sleep. It's all about the food here. Other than the genuine Taiwanese hospitality from the chef, owners, and amazing food, don't expect anything else. Can not wait until next time!

Care for some boba with your Blintz?I would've never known about this place, unless for the check-in from my bud, Gerry.Located inside Quest Learning Center & formerly Quest Café, Blintz Café is a casual eatery serving tea, coffee & Taiwanese fusion dishes. The main entrance is on the Elaine Ave. side, with an alternate entrance through the Quest Learning Center main doors. 6 dedicated parking stalls located in the Quest parking lot.Lunch specials have 2 price points - $4.95 & $5.95 (including vegetarian). They include rice or fries & salad. Soda or iced tea is an additional $1 & flavored tea is an additional $2.Upon asking what's recommended & being informed their limited time only ramen wasn't available, I was led to their popcorn chicken ($4.95)After a request for spicy & a few minutes of wait, lunch was on. The popcorn chicken had an extra crispy coating which I enjoyed. I'm a texture guy. I like crunchy dill pickles. I like slices of raw onion. And, I particularly prefer the crunchy exterior on each piece of popcorn chicken here at Blintz Cafe. The portion was great. Rice & salad completed the meal.Besides the usual suspects, such as Taiwanese sausage & fish balls, Blintz offers more pedestrian items, like hot wings & their Crazy Fries (cheddar cheese, mozzarella, bacon creamy cheese, mudded & pizza pepperoni).Drink sizes come in regular, large &, if you're willing to accept, "The Challenge" size ($5.75).Polishing off "The Challenge" si...
