This is a delicious ramen restaurant well worth visiting if you were in the Santa Rosa area. Considering the craftsmanship of each dish, I think the price is on the menu items are quite Fair - you're definitely not paying anything close to fine dining prices, and they seem quite attentive to detail here. The crafted cocktails are solid. I wish they would have offered a chicken only broth - olas all of the other brats have some pork in them so if you don't partake in the swine, you'll have to settle for the vegan. It is however, quite an excellent broth. Kudos for the authentic housemade kimchi. It gets busy here on Friday or Saturday night, and you'll be glad you made a reservation if you do. Service got a little bit delayed because of the rush, but they were very gracious in offering us a complimentary hot tea and dessert which were both very good. I would certainly come here again and recommend this to anyone who is craving a nice hot nourishing dinner.

Outstanding - worth a detour! We just spent a weekend on the coast and were once again disappointed by the food choices in Guerneville, Jenner and Bodega Bay, so we decided to drive back home via Sebastopol for lunch at Ramen Gaijin, based on an Eater review. We are so glad we did! Our lunch was absolutely spectacular from start to finish. We had the tsukemono (assortment of pickles) which were gorgeous to look at and tasty too. I had a very flavorful veggie udon, and my husband had a delicious okonomiyaki, and for dessert the black sesame ice cream (with matcha meringue, coconut granola and miso caramel) was out of this world. I would move to Sebastopol and eat here twice a week if I could!

Ramen Gaijin had a huge wait (about 1.5 hours) on a Saturday night which I guess is expected. Finally got a space on the patio which had some nice heated lamps and got the spicy tan tan men. The spicy pork and chicken broth was pretty flavorful and the garnishes in the bowl - pork belly, ground pork, charred cabbage, woodear and egg - were all delicious with the broth! I'd hate to knock points because everything else was delicious but the only thing I didn't like was the noodles which tasted extremely starchy and soggy which literally ruined the whole dish. The starchy-ness could not be avoided and it wasn't like I was only going to drink the broth since the dish was supposed to be composed together. Overall, a miss - sadly.
