As soon as it opened, Reyla by far became my favorite restaurant in asbury and I frequented often with family, friends, and for various special occasions - recommending to anyone who would listen !! The food was always fresh, superbly flavored and presented, and where I fell in love with pickled vegetables. However, I went last night for a birthday dinner and was very disappointed. It is my second issue here and what compelled me to write a review. I should start that our server Brandon/Brendan (?) was great he was attentive and new the menu well. But I have been ordering Blood, Sugar Sex Magic since the doors opened and it was so spicy it felt like it burned my insides - but chiles are rogue sometimes, so all I was still optimistic. The new items we ordered were stellar (octopus, artichokes) but the hummus was watery and cheap compared to quantity I've had here. We were three people we got two pitas. The lamb burgers were half the size of the buns and my shawarma had one falafel - usually it's so full of ingredients I have to take...

What a disappointment. Don't come here thinking you will be fed. Their portions are a joke, they have three sections, bites, street food and plates. We ordered one from each and had an eggplant from the plates thinking it was a bigger portion than bites. Well it's not, it's one tiny eggplant which is a joke, should be in the bites section. And it's 16 dollars. Place is trendy nice decor, but that's pretty much it. Their cocktails pretty much have zero alcohol in them. Don't be fooled by this place! Manager did not even come to our table, waiter just said kitchen apologized for the eggplant whatever that means!
