Riel in Houston

This is my third time here and it never disappoints. You can't go wrong with anything you order from the menu. Today, I had the mushroom empanadas (tasty, creamy, crispy crust, delicious chimichurri), bannock (baked bread w/ seasonal jam and butter), pierogies and the market fish (red snapper,risotto and mussels). The main dish was the highlight with amazing flavors and good portion of perfectly cooked fish. Finished up with bees knees dessert...wow. Definitely recommend coming here and trying everything on their menu! Buen provecho!!

We only live a few blocks away and just tried Riel for the first time! It was exceptional from beginning to end. Our server, Elle (sp?), was just a delight! Seriously perfect service!! We sat on the line and it was such a great vibe! The bartender rocks!! Truly delicious drinks with all fresh ingredients and attention to detail!! I've had drinks many other places for $14 bucks that don't even come close to Riel's! Every, single thing we ate was the 'mmmm' out loud kinda dish! Cauliflower tempura, tartare, pierogies, hangar steak, and Elle treated us to The Jerk dessert! Yum!!! I love a one page, eclectic menu! Riel is unpretentious, has that cool, Montrose, everyone's welcome vibe! 10 stars!! Thanks to all for the exceptional service!

Riel is an excellent American restaurant serving some classic dishes with some interesting Ukrainian and Asian influences.
