As Kipper S said - this location is not a store, nor can you tour the facility (which would have been cool) but I stopped here to pick up some of their delicious hummus that Roots Organic Gourmet was kind enough to donate to a Beer Tour I was a part of. I had never tried their hummus before but in speaking with some of their employees- I found that they are being sold in some grocery stores in Connecticut (where I reside). If you do have the opportunity to try some of their hummus you will not be disappointed.  From the simple and classic "regular" hummus to some of their more adventurous flavors such as Lima Bean and Thai Coconut Curry - these  products are rich, creamy and delicious that they can (and were) eaten on their own. Another great local business in Asheville and so happy that they have done well enough to expand outside the state of South Carolina.

PLEASE BE AWARE: THIS IS THE ROOTS FACTORY. It is not a cafe, it is not a restaurant, there is no store front.   Someone wonderful decided to add this listing to Yelp, and although you can't visit Roots, you can pick up their delicious hummus and dips at nearly any market around town. I've always been a fan of hummus, but once I had Roots' Red Pepper hummus, I felt as though a long search had concluded. This, this, this is what hummus should taste like. It's freaking perfect. Other awesome flavors are the Oil Free (if you're looking for a low fat snack), the Sriacha Mango, and the Thai Coconut, all awesome and delicious. My refrigerator always has at least one container of Roots hummus in it at all times. It's a great snack, and wonderful to share when unexpected company drops by. ---- Here's a tip, the cheapest place to pick up Roots Hummus is at the Hopey & Co. on French Broad.
